How do I de-stress from stress?

I need a therapist to talk to regarding how to cope with stress with school-related issues. Relax the body and mind and find a way to create and manage healthy habits. I want the therapist to be kind, gentle and encouraging of my goals while listening and reassuring me about my stress and helping me to get through it.

I have experience of working with students and teachers and am aware of various challenges that can present themselves in a school setting.

My role would be to listen to you and work with you to identify what in particular causes you stress within school.
The way I work is - I believe you know yourself better thank anyone. My job is to gently help you to understand what your stress looks like for you, what makes it feel worse for you, what makes it feel better for you.

I will also help you to explore and try to understand your strengths (which we all tend to have) - but sometimes they can feel swamped and difficult to identify by all the other things going on.

I can offer you a variety of tools for the body and mind that you and I may feel you will benefit from - these can range from breathing techniques, relaxation exercises, grounding exercises, ways of finding space for you within a school day to recharge - in order to help cope with whatever is causing you stress.

If you feel it would be helpful we can then look at identifying goals you feel you would like to achieve.  Breaking these down to small achievable steps.  This can often help to make things we need to do/want to do, more manageable - which also can limit the stress feelings around them.

We can also work together on identifying and creating manageable, healthy habits that will work for you. Sometimes these may be new ways and new habits and sometimes these may be things we have tried and used in the past that have helped us - but we may have forgotten about.

My way of working is to work with you at your pace, to work with what you want to bring and with what you want to achieve.  I will not make you talk about anything you don't want to bring and I am not here to judge you.

Reaching out for support I feel takes courage and I want to acknowledge that.

Thank you for reaching out.
