Why Therapy Is Good For Everyone?
Therapy is good for everyone and should be utilized by everyone for various reasons. Therapy allows the client to have a safe and unbiased platform to discuss any and all issues that impact them in their lives. These issues may be currently happening or they may be from past experiences. Issues could be as extreme as trauma or as relevant as working through daily schedules. There is no limitation on what attending therapy should look like.
The body and mind are connected and both need a release when holding onto problems or issues. Therapy allows the mind to release or work through issues that the client is experiencing. It also allows the client a sounding board to discuss things with the therapist that the client could not otherwise speak about to anyone else. This in and of itself can be stress relieving for the client.
Therapists not only listen to issues presented by the client, but they also help the client to work through those issues by offering insight that the client may not have thought about. At no time is the therapist telling the client what they should do, but instead, they are actively listening to the client and asking the client to reflect on the statements that they are making. By doing this the client may hear things or realize things that they hadn't before speaking to the therapist. This can be extremely helpful when a client is trying to work through an issue that they have not been able to do by themselves.
If there has been a traumatic experience that the client went through, a therapist can help the client to process that event through different modalities. Talk therapy can help provide a safe place for the client to discuss the traumatic event and release their feelings about it. The therapist can also utilize modalities such as EMDR to help the client work through but Rama to help lessen the impact.
Therapy is great for everyone for a variety of reasons, but mostly because it provides the client, someone that can walk through their experience with them, they are not alone. Therapy can offer unbiased support from a caring therapist. It can also offer insight into the issues that are impacting the client and a kind way that they may not receive from others. All in all, therapy is good for everyone whether they are experiencing emotional distress or just needing a safe place to discuss life's happenings.
