I am a clinical social worker with 15 years of experience working in social work, counseling, and supportive positions. I have worked in New York City and Portland, Oregon so I have experience with people from a wide range of backgrounds. One of my main areas of specialty is parenting stress, specifically parenting when you have your own history of trauma that you are finding is starting to impact how you parent. I also have significant training in trauma and abuse, depression, anxiety, and chronic toxic stress. I have recently added in diet and weight loss counseling to my repertoire and it is another area of focus I enjoy.
My counseling style is casual and warm. Clients often tell me it doesn't "feel like therapy" until they notice that they are starting to make changes in their lives, feel validated, and start to think more about their patterns and behaviors. I use a lot of cognitive-behavioral techniques as well as interpersonal, client-centered therapy. The priority of treatment is to focus on your goals and we will work together as a team to identify them and find the best ways to work towards them.
I am looking forward to hearing from you and learning about your story!

I feel a real connection with my counselor and that she understands the hardships and challenges I face which makes our sessions very productive. Ive gotten a lot out of better help so far and hope I keep making progress over time.
Caitlin has been great so far, helped me in really practical ways and made me feel like less of a weirdo and like my problems are common and easily treated.
Caitlin helped me through a personal crisis. She has assisted me with accountability. She has helped me realize my rut and get me out of it. She's a total gem.
I really love working with Caitlin. She definitely understands me and what my issues are. My only regret is that she doesn’t live closer so I could see her and talk to her in person.
Caitlin has been very helpful to me. We've been working together for a solid few weeks and I can already see an improvement in my thought process. I look forward to working through several issues with her and really appreciate her support and timely responses. I would recommend her!
Caitlin listens very well. I felt immediately as though she were willing to respect me and my entire being while also guiding me helpfully through the pitfalls of my current life. She is understanding, empathic, level headed, and the right mix of informal and formal with her communications. I have found that she is a great fit for me and I enjoy messaging with her back and forth. In the first week of communications, she helped me uncover a problem that has been challenging me for quite some time. She's excellent at listening!
Very lovely LGBT (and polyamory!) friendly counselor who has tons of resources, suggestions, and techniques for trauma, relationships, communication, and anxiety. I absolutely adore her!
In the short time that I have been working with Caitlin she really has helped me. I have gotten tools from her and she is very active in having work on my issues that I’ve been facing for a long while. I am definitely satisfied in the pairing that BetterHelp has provided me with. Caitlin is really helpful!
I really like her. She's patient and understanding. She's totally up to date with current issues and social media. She understands the problems that come with transnational identity. She's given me some very solid advice.
