About Me

I am a clinical social worker with 15 years of experience working in social work, counseling, and supportive positions. I have worked in New York City and Portland, Oregon so I have experience with people from a wide range of backgrounds. One of my main areas of specialty is parenting stress, specifically parenting when you have your own history of trauma that you are finding is starting to impact how you parent. I also have significant training in trauma and abuse, depression, anxiety, and chronic toxic stress. I have recently added in diet and weight loss counseling to my repertoire and it is another area of focus I enjoy.

My counseling style is casual and warm. Clients often tell me it doesn't "feel like therapy" until they notice that they are starting to make changes in their lives, feel validated, and start to think more about their patterns and behaviors. I use a lot of cognitive-behavioral techniques as well as interpersonal, client-centered therapy. The priority of treatment is to focus on your goals and we will work together as a team to identify them and find the best ways to work towards them.

I am looking forward to hearing from you and learning about your story!

Caitlin is one of the best counselors I've ever met in my entire life (and I've seen several over the years). She understands me and take a lot of time to understand where I'm coming from. She also suggests lots of possible solutions for whatever I may be experiencing.

Caitlin is fantastic, the best counselor I've ever had! She is an empathetic and non-judgmental listener. I felt very comfortable talking to her and she helped me identify some bad mental habits I had developed over the years and replace them with healthier ones. She's very understanding and flexible with scheduling.

Caitlin is an excellent listener and has always created a space where I have felt comfortable expressing my true self and opinions. She is also super quick to pick-up on thoughts, feelings or ideas that I have not been able to verbalize, and has helped me work through some of my blind spots. Additionally, I really appreciate that she has kept up-to-date on developments and techniques in psychology, therapy, and related fields, and has applied them in our sessions as need be.

Caitlin definitely doesn’t disappoint. My only regret is not being able to talk to her in person!

Caitlin approaches you like the friend that you have known for years. The friend that supports you and encourages you to attain all that you want out of life. She is also the friend who is honest yet kind, confident in her suggestions yet reasonable. I was looking for someone who had familiarity with my particular situation and she does. I will continue to use BetterHelp because of Caitlin. My messages with her are wonderful and always responded to quickly. I could not be more satisfied. Genuinely.

Caitlin listens very well. I felt immediately as though she were willing to respect me and my entire being while also guiding me helpfully through the pitfalls of my current life. She is understanding, empathic, level headed, and the right mix of informal and formal with her communications. I have found that she is a great fit for me and I enjoy messaging with her back and forth. In the first week of communications, she helped me uncover a problem that has been challenging me for quite some time. She's excellent at listening!
