About me

I am a mental health counselor and marriage and family therapist with over 17 years experience. I have a master's of counseling in marriage and family therapy from the University of Phoenix, Albuquerque, New Mexico campus. I obtained my degree and experience while supporting my husband as he was serving in the military. As result, we moved every three years which afforded me the opportunity to work in numerous settings. It is my goal to help children, individuals, couples and families explore and solve their behavioral, emotional and relational struggles so all can reach their full potential and achieve a balanced life.
Balance is a key part to healthy living. Healthy living is how we live our best life. My style of therapy is collaborative and strengths based with a focus on symptom reduction and quality living. My therapeutic focus is collaborative yet direct. Everyone has strengths, needs and areas to heal and grow. I will collaborate with you to identify where your needs are and guide you with tools along the way. Together, we will develop a plan of action. Some of the tools I utilize are CBT, EMDR, DBT, MI and Solution Focused.
I have specialized training in sexual abuse both for victims and aggressors, military and veteran affairs, trauma, children and teenagers, and community mental health. I have over 5 years directly with foster care and adoption. Taking action can feel overwhelming and scary but you are not alone. Our work together will support you to heal what has been holding you back. Everyday is a new opportunity to live your best life and I'm here to help you realize yours.

Candace is a wonderful counselor. She has been extremely helpful to me as I navigate a huge transition in my life. She’s responsive, flexible, and sends me messages throughout the week as she reflects on our conversations. Our sessions feel like talking with a friend who really sees and understands me, and I am so grateful for her guidance and support.
