About Me

Hello and Welcome! I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist with 10 years of experience working with various mental health challenges in many different treatment settings. I got my Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Chapman University. I strive to keep my counseling knowledge and skills strong by staying up to date through continued education. Currently I teach therapists who are new to the counseling profession and provide supervisory leadership to help strengthen competency in my field. I started my counseling career focused on helping children diagnosed with Autism. I later began working in Addiction Counseling, both in an individual and group therapy setting. Over the past 8 years, I have specialized in the treatment of Psychotic Disorders, Personality Disorders, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, and PTSD.

My counseling style is supportive, interactive, and direct. Everyone has the right to access mental health care and I am excited to be able to be a part of providing that care in a more easily accessible setting. My treatment approach is a combination of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) which is a type of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy or CBT. I also love to integrate parts of Person-Centered Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and Narrative Therapy where appropriate. My counseling style is a "Whatever it takes," mindset and I am willing to explore various treatment options and modalities to support the individuals I work with in meeting their goals and feeling better.

The first step of reaching out and asking for support can be the hardest part. I applaud your willingness to take care of yourself and start that process. If you're looking for a therapist who is willing to listen, be direct, help you gain insight and make suggestions for "tools" or "tricks," that you can use to problem-solve and feel better in the moment, then I look forward to working with you.

I look forward to my messages from Candace. I feel the messaging feature works for me because I am able to send all of the issues I am having to her on MY time and schedule and when she replies she responds to every part of my message so I know she is taking her time and actually listening to me. Candace offers ways for mw to look at things with a new perspective and she is very helpful.
