About me

Welcome and hello! My name is Cara Morales. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of California who works with young adults, adults, couples, and families who find themselves in a difficult season of life. As a therapist, I believe that life is not an easy journey, and no one is exempt from the storms of life. Having someone to walk with us through these storms is invaluable, and therapy offers a healing support system during difficult times.

I received a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University. I am trained in the following skills and specializations: Bereavement Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Gottman Couples Therapy, Mindfulness, and the integration of Christian faith with psychology for clients that desire this.

I have extensive experience in treating a wide array of issues such as: depression, anxiety, self-harm behaviors, suicidality, family stressors such as divorce or a new blended family, creating healthy relationships, a variety of social situations, and how to make big life decisions. Being trained in bereavement therapy I have worked with individuals after the loss of a loved one, which can present a wide array of effects. Using EMDR, I have assisted individuals process traumatic events they have experienced, which continue to adversely affect their daily lives. And with Gottman Couples therapy I have worked with couples to strengthen their connections and intimacy, leading to more satisfying relationships.

When we are struggling it is not always easy to reach out and ask for help, and I commend you on taking this first step towards growth and healing. I look forward to walking with you in your journey of life, and helping you to the best of my ability.
