About Me
CaRen Ogle is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia and a Certified Anger Management Specialist (CAMS). She holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology from Ball State University and a Master’s of Art Degree in Counseling Psychology from Clark Atlanta University. Her professional experience consists of providing mental health services for children, pre-adolescents, adolescents, adults, and families. The foundation of my therapeutic approach is to create a warm, cozy, peaceful, and collaborative environment that feels as if you are sitting in your own living room allowing for connection, clarity, and direction towards overcoming seemingly impossible barriers to fulfillment. Having over 30 years of experience helping others I’ve learned the client knows him or herself best and the most efficient way to help is to meet people where they are. Identifying and utilizing strengths as well as exploring qualities either never sought or considered can create the opportunity to live a quality of life you get to design. Together, my adults and I strive to understand how they perceive themselves within the content of their own minds and the context in which their interpersonal relationships are played out to create a healthy view of self and healthier interactions with people, places, things and the world. Common issues that my Adult clients face include excessive worry, crying spells, panic attacks, stress and anxieties, OCD, PTSD, loneliness, depression, emotional and verbal shut downs, perfectionism, work-related issues, difficulties in key relationships, mood fluctuations, codependency, addictions, and overcoming traumatic histories. I frequently use DBT, CBT, Anger Management Techniques/strategies, Motivational, as well as on-going training with Brainspotting and TF-CBT methods to help clients of various ages’ process through a wide range of highly stressful, activating and traumatic experiences that prevent them from fully engaging in aspects of their life.
My area of specialty is in working with children, adolescents, and families who are facing a wide-range of difficulties. Many of the youth I work with demonstrate a great deal of resiliency early in life to overcome struggles related to worry, stress anxieties, depression, self-esteem, life changes and transitions, blended families, divorce, school issues such as under-performance, perfectionism or avoidance, as well as body image, behavioral challenges, and trauma. I believe sensitivity to the needs and experiences of children and adolescents, and the ability to hear them as well as relate, is crucial to this work. I integrate creative play, TF-CBT and art into our work to create an effective and natural means for children to express themselves and the turmoil they may be experiencing in order to find effective resolutions. I work closely with parents as well to also help them learn strategies to best help their child on a daily basis.
Families and I work together to address many family difficulties or transitions such as traumatic family histories, codependency, enabling, divorce, blending a new family, codependency, substance abuse interventionist, educate families/Couples who are dealing with loved ones suffering from mental health distress. I believe in helping to create and support changes within the family system to help the system function more effectively together. My primary goals in family therapy include helping the family unit to gain a greater understanding of the roles, perceptions, and dynamics at play, as well as increasing communication among members, in order to create their desired change.
I have been in private practice within the Midtown area since 2011. I believe it is important to stay connected to the community to provide education regarding mental distress and help individuals to understand that counseling is for the everyday person and it cannot hurt to talk with an objective person who provides a non-judgmental environment to address private thoughts we often don’t share with others. I am a past member of American Counseling Association (2015) as well as the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce (2015).
I am available for short and long term counseling and I work nights and weekends to accommodate those with varying or late schedules.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for CaRen Ogle, LPC, CCTP. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
CaRen is amazing. She is the third therapist I’ve worked with on BetterHelp and is by far the best. After only 3 appointments, she’s helped me get to the root of my problems and helped me find ways to work on them. She is very honest and straight forward which may be intimidating to some people and was hard for me at first but that straightforwardness has helped me realize things that I wouldn’t have realized otherwise. Thank you so much CaRen.
Ms. Ogle is a GODSEND! She immediately knew what I needed and has helped me navigate my issues. She makes therapy feel like a conversation between old friends. She challenges me, does not hold anything back, and utilizes a combination of techniques that best fit me. I couldn't have asked for a better therapist and am so grateful for the time she's spent helping me!
She’s great!
Professional and focused. Love her!
CaRen has been very attentive, understanding and helpful so far and I look forward to continuing to work with her.
CaRen is a very astute therapist and really gets into underlying issues. She is one of the best therapist I have ever worked with. I would recommend her to anyone.
CaRen has been helping me for just under a year now. She has always been incredibly supportive, but equally grounding and realistic. She has given me the tools I need to process the issues I was having, and prevent them from occurring again. She showed me how to understand myself and the root causes of things I had been living with most of my life.
I highly recommend CaRen for anyone who is struggling with anxiety, depression or relationship issues.
CaRen has been such a big help in a small amount of time. She listens and understands. She encourages journaling and really help you to realize patterns and behaviors. I really enjoy that she takes time to message me throughout the week to respond to my journal entries or questions. It's nice to have someone that gives so much of her time to this process.
CaRen is excellent at listening and helping me see the truth (or untruth) of my feelings.
She listens and help me process what I need to.
CaRen was kind, calm, respectful, and personable. I truly enjoyed meeting with her and I look forward to speaking with her again.
CaRen is incredible! Hands down one of the best therapists I’ve ever had. The growth I’ve had in the past couple months with her help has been tremendous and life changing. She is kind, supportive, and challenges me in a way that is both meaningful and respectful to get back into living my best life. Highly recommend CaRen!
The Best! She is definitely like the girlfriend-therapist that will be brutally honest with you. I honestly look forward to speaking with her on a weekly basis.
I just started with the therapy session, but she has listened, gave positive feedback, and strategies. I found that can help me heal in this process.
Very soft spoken and a great listener. Her perspectives are clear and understanding. She asks the right questions that challenges your perception. I would highly recommend anyone to at least try a months worth of sessions so you could really reap the benefits of becoming a better version of yourself! CaRen Ogle is the truth y’all !!
The work we have been doing is really helping me. Caren has continued to give me tools to process certain things in my life. I look forward to my continued growth!
Great way to overcome your trauma
She is amazing. She's listens to you and provides feedback that is helpful in your journey of relief and comfort.
CaRen is so so good to me. She always listens to what I have to say. She encourages me to speak my mind and to do what is best for me. She’s great with feedback and she’s always has valuable input. I tell her about every little detail happening and she’s attentive and thoughtful. She’s even reached out to me several times because I’ve been off her schedule for a few weeks due to personal reasons. She’s great!
We've only had one session so far, but she's brave as all get out for trying to help me with my myriad of severe mental health issues. She has a very calming and soothing aura, and I'm excited to further grow with her.
I love her, she is so down to earth and intelligent.
CaRen has a very inviting personality. She makes me feel comfortable expressing myself and any concerns without being judged. She is helping me focus on my healthy place. I'm loving this new outlet.
I have only had a couple sessions but things I love about her the most is that she's a fantastic listener, she's not judgmental and she seems to be able to emphasize as well.
It was great sharing my stories with someone again. Someone unbiased who will listen to me and really try to understand what's happening. I really enjoyed the questions I was asked and she seemed very interested to get to know my current struggles. 10/10
Very understanding and creates a safe place.
