Carl Cordova, LCSW
About me
Carl G. Cordova LCSW-S, has been in practice since 2007. He has extensive experience in Adult Protective Services helping the aged and disabled, then conducting group and individual therapy for individuals suffering from mental health and chemical dependency issues, along with years of experience as an Outpatient Social Work Supervisor at John Peter Smith Health Network. Over the years, Carl has garnered experience teaching married couples how to achieve joy together, conducting pre-marital counseling, offering EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services, and worked in San Antonio at Lackland Air Force Base treating refugee children. Carl currently treats adolescents and adults, being particularly effective with his "no-nonsense" approach in counseling with young males and adult men's issues. Carl served a 2 year full-time mission preaching the Gospel in the jungles of Costa Rica for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As such, he is an expert in Faith-based counseling and is bilingual in Spanish.
Carl is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma.
Carl also offers training and seminar presentations for Ethics and Values, having been a guest speaker for college-level business class instruction and Introduction to Social Work.
