Welcome to Better Help! My name is Carla Clark-McRae and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of North Carolina. My passion is helping and serving others. I obtained my bachelor’s in social work in 2007 from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and then pursued my master’s in social work from Fayetteville State University in 2010. I worked for over six years with children and families who were involved with Child Protective Services as well as Adoption Services. After working in child welfare, I was led to a clinical role in serving others through direct contact. I started providing individual and family therapy. Life has a way of forcing change at times in those times growth and transition are needed for transformation.
My dedication to the field of mental health stems from my personal experience. Mental Health in my community was Taboo and so I push to the effort to grow in the understanding that mental health is as important as physical health. I’ve assisted others through complicated grief, stress management, anger management, depression, anxiety, parenting difficulties, as well as chronic mental health conditions.
