Carla Noto-Vencill

About Me

Hi! My name is Carla and I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for almost 30 years. I am licensed in both California and Texas. I am passionate about working with people hoping to understand themselves and others in a deeper way.

I believe in a person-centered counseling approach encouraging my clients to be the expert in their own life. I believe that true change comes when someone is able to clarify what it is they want to be different, and then, with help, develop strength based interventions and strategies for achieving those goals. I am confident I can help walk you through that process by treating you with respect, honest and open feedback, compassion and unconditional positive regard.

I have extensive experience working with people in need of addiction counseling, depression, anxiety and trauma related issues as well as years and years of relationship counseling (couples, families, work relationships, etc). Most of my clients have been with me on and off for long periods of time and regard me as someone who is warm, available and extremely engaged. I know that some of what we discuss during a session needs to be practiced during the week, so I am happy to have as many short communications in between scheduled sessions as necessary so you can get the most out of your counseling experience.

Asking for help is a big step and I am here for you 100% and I'm so excited to meet you!

Carla is by far the best counselor I have ever had. She is kind, non judgmental, perceptive, and solution focused. She has helped me immensely in the time that I have been working with her. She responds quickly to my messages. She’s engaging and shows concern about my well being. I’m very grateful to have found her. She has supported me through big transformations in my life. Her point of view and solutions have helped me immensely.

Carla is very kind and honest. She really gets to the heart of what you’re going through and gives the best tools and advice to deal with the root of the problem. I would recommend her to anyone.

Carla is an excellent counselor. She responds quickly to messages and checks in when she hasn’t heard from you. She is kind and understanding and helps me to see myself in a better light. She is also fun and easy to joke with when the time is right! She made accommodations to my schedule, which I deeply appreciate, and I know she is there to help.

I find Carla to be a very positive, professional therapy. Right from first appointment I knew I could trust her. Highly recommend!
