I am Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and I have worked in mental health for the last 6 years. I have a Master’s degree in Counseling from St. Edwards University and I’m a few semesters away from finishing my PhD in Counselor Education from the University of North Texas. I live and work in Seattle with my partner and my dog while I’m finishing up school.
I approach counseling from a Relational-Cultural perspective which is a feminist, multicultural lens that focuses on developing a growth fostering relationship between the therapist and the client to help support the client making positive changes in their life. This growth fostering relationship can be used a model to improve all other relationships in the clients life. In a practical sense, this means that I will be striving to create a positive connection with you and I will be encouraging you to assess your past relationships and how they may have impact you now.

Carly is so understanding and makes me feel so comfortable talking to her. I thought it would be hard for me to share my emotions with a stranger but it has been the complete opposite. She validates all my feelings and I look forward to my sessions with her. I was nervous to start therapy but I’m so thankful I did. I highly recommend Carly and better help to anyone looking for flexible and genuine help.
I wasn’t sure if I would benefit from this method of counseling but this has been a great experience. Carly has really supported me and helped guide me to make some positive changes in my life. She has helped me change my view on some old ways of operating and encourages me do the hard things I need to do to better my life and take some control back in my emotional health.
Carly is so understanding and her advice is always so clear and comes from a place of kindness and truth. She has helped me to really grow and have confidence in myself. Thanks Carly!
Carly Stevens was my first counseling experience. I needed it when I didn’t know who to talk to and how to deal with my emotions and I don’t regret it as I found comfort and stability.
