Welcome! It takes a lot of courage and strength to seek counseling support, but I assure you it is so rewarding! I look forward to meeting you and getting started, but first let me tell you a bit about myself.
My name is Carmela and I received a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lesley University in Cambridge, Ma with a specialization in both school and community counseling. For the past 8 years I have been working as a high school social worker, which has afforded me great experience working with adolescents, young adults and families. I have also worked as an outpatient therapist and am comfortable working with adults as well. I have experience with a variety of presenting concerns such as depression and anxiety, sexual identity, learning and academic struggles, parenting and family issues, and compassion fatigue among others.
My therapeutic style is person centered, kind, genuine and non judgmental. For therapy to work, clients must feel comfortable and supported. I work with you to create a trusting rapport, collaboratively set goals, and help you reach those goals by integrating your strengths and using cognitive behavioral, solution focused, and strength-based therapy.

Carmela is kind and caring, I enjoy talking with her every week.
