Carmela Pucci

About Me

Welcome! It takes a lot of courage and strength to seek counseling support, but I assure you it is so rewarding! I look forward to meeting you and getting started, but first let me tell you a bit about myself.

My name is Carmela and I received a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lesley University in Cambridge, Ma with a specialization in both school and community counseling. For the past 8 years I have been working as a high school social worker, which has afforded me great experience working with adolescents, young adults and families. I have also worked as an outpatient therapist and am comfortable working with adults as well. I have experience with a variety of presenting concerns such as depression and anxiety, sexual identity, learning and academic struggles, parenting and family issues, and compassion fatigue among others.

My therapeutic style is person centered, kind, genuine and non judgmental. For therapy to work, clients must feel comfortable and supported. I work with you to create a trusting rapport, collaboratively set goals, and help you reach those goals by integrating your strengths and using cognitive behavioral, solution focused, and strength-based therapy.

I truly love listening and helping people reach their full potential. If you are ready to take on this work, I am here to support you.

Carmela is kind and caring, I enjoy talking with her every week. It is clear that she listens to what I am trying to say and she takes the time to acknowledge my thoughts while also providing strategies for coping with my anxiety when I need it. I like that she helps me to realize that a lot of what I am feeling is ok and normal. She also helps me reframe negative thoughts into more positive ones. I have found the live chat with her to be very helpful, and I would definitely recommend her for anyone with anxiety.
