I am a LIMHP and have been a therapist for about 15 years. I specialize in working with folks with anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, family situations, interpersonal situations, and overwhelming emotions.
My counseling style is eclectic and direct. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, and mindfulness therapy. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

Carmen is such an awesome counselor, she’s not afraid to be real with me and will at times make me relate to herself which makes things feel more personable and comfortable. She takes the time to ensure that you are doing okay and genuinely cares for your well-being. I always feel very comfortable talking to Carmen. She doesn’t force anything on me. Are conversations are very fluid, I vent and she offers skills to handle the things that are going on in my life.

As many of us during the pandemic, I started working on myself and my stress more during this past year. After months of yoga, breathing techniques and getting a little into meditation, Carmen gave me the tools to really process all the information I had in my head, and the feelings I had been having. She is great at explaining different techniques and concepts so that they actually make sense to you. She listens and works with you to find the ones that will work in your daily life. It was thanks to little shifts and "aha moments" that I had during the conversations with her and the information she sent me that I feel more empowered now to deal with my anxiety.
Carmen is a very compassionate, warm, clever and non-judgemental person. They've already helped me get my bearings and focus on the things that could be improved given my life's situatation.
