About me

I am a Delaware Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Emotional Freedom Techniques/Tapping Practitioner, and a Nationally Certified Hypnotherapist. My career as a therapist spans more than 20 years. I specialize in weight loss, insomnia, addictions, emotional trauma treatment, inner child/internal healing, and Mind/Body therapies. I have worked with children, families, and individuals experiencing trauma-related issues such as child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and parent/child conflict. I have also worked with adults diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illnesses, depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and other complex traumas, eating disorders, alcohol, gambling, and substance use disorders. My other experience includes working with clients experiencing grief/loss issues and serious illnesses like cancer. Because everyone is different, I use both traditional and non-traditional therapy approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Transactional Analysis, Internal Family Systems, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, The Sedona Method, Ho’oponopono, NLP, and hypnotherapy and I tailor my therapy approach to meet the needs of each client. I practice active and reflective listening along with mirroring during sessions to help you notice, examine, reframe and reflect on your internal thought patterns, beliefs, behaviors, and emotions to help you make needed changes to reach your desired outcome. I am very personable, caring, empathic, and kind and my therapy is structured with you in mind. I look forward to meeting and working with you.

Carolyn has a wide variety of knowledge and many years of experience. She listens to what I have to say, and helps me to understand why I am having feelings I have. She brainstorms different ways to tackle these challenges paying attention to what seems to work best for me. I appreciate having the hands on advice that I can practice and put into use as opposed to simply talking about my challenges. Having the hands on techniques she shares allows me to start making progress in the areas that are challenging for me. She is also just such a sweet, kind person!
