My name is Carolyn Elaine Smith. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensed in the state of Georgia with 11 years of experience. My theoretical approach includes a Client-centered base along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing. These modalities have worked together to help clients uproot hidden issues that may be causing irrational thinking and behavioral problems. My mission is to educate clients as well as counsel clients on how to live a more quality life and to learn how to identify triggers and use coping mechanisms to manage problems on their own. I have worked with clients experiencing depression, low self-esteem, grief and suffering, terminal illness diagnoses, and relationship issues. I believe in God and the power of prayer for whole-person recovery. However, my religious beliefs are only shared when requested by the client. I respect and empower clients to identify a support system including myself to help them reach their identified goals.

My first session with Carolyn Smith went very well. She was very nice. I felt comfortable in talking to her. She was genuinely concerned about my well-being. She recommended a higher level of therapy for me which I greatly appreciated. Carolyn Smith is a good Therapist. I highly recommend her. Thank you!
Carolyn serves a role that surpasses mere therapist. She listens. She uses her skills in a way in which you are aware that she is using them, but she does not come across as clinical, but as human. Her holistic approach takes into account the body, the mind, and the spirit. At the time that I sought therapy, she was the right person in the right place. She was the perfect therapist for me!
Wonderful counselor, listener, advisor.
She was a big help. She really helped me to see the progress I had made in life and the blessings I had despite my negative attitude. She gave me a more positive outlook for this stage of my life and had me focusing on the self care I had be neglecting.
She is so kind and trustworthy. No judgement.
