About me

Thank you so much for coming to me!

I understand that talking to someone new can be intimidating, and so I strive to create safeness for each of my clients. I would describe myself as very intuitive and extremely empathetic. I am straightforward and will add a bit of spice through sarcasm and humor. I also pride myself on being transparent with my clients. In my therapy practice, I might describe myself as a lighthouse providing guidance for the ships seeking the shore.

“I am a lighthouse rather than a lifeboat. I do not rescue, but instead, help others find their way to shore.”

I obtained my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University in 2016. My interest was in working with clients who experienced trauma and I was accepted into an internship that provided trauma therapy to the LGBTQ+ community. For the last six years, I have counseled children, teens, and adults with a variety of needs, providing both individual and group services. For three years, I have offered trauma-focused therapy to victims of sexual, physical, and emotional violence and abuse. I have experience working with all ages, from children as young as 18 months to adults. It’s a privilege for me to help those who are stuck reliving their trauma, those who have lost their voice because they are afraid to speak, and those who have such big feelings that it scares other people. It is such a joy and honor for me to watch my clients find their voice, understand their feelings, and work their way through the healing process!

Treatment Approach: I am a nationally certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral (TF-CBT) therapist. I am also in training to be nationally certified in Child-Parent Psychotherapy. I am known to practice Mindfulness and Client-Centered Therapy. I can also be an eclectic therapist in that I “borrow” from other therapies for the work I do with my clients. I love to use creative techniques such as play, writing, or music to meet each client’s individual needs.
