I have been a counselor for about 9 years. During this time, I have assisted people from diverse backgrounds conquer many different challenges. I have extensive training in addictions and training in family therapy. I am also experienced working with past trauma, anxiety, and life adjustment issues. I believe that my diverse education and training allows me to work with clients holistically, considering the many unique and different aspects of the individual and their situation.
I am also trained in distance counseling and my doctoral thesis was in the area of distance counseling instruction for clinicians. I am passionate about the expansion of therapy into the online world and work exclusively online with clients in the U.S and overseas.
I work from a positive perspective and focus more on solutions than problems, I believe that we all have strengths within us, and I work to help clients discover their inner strengths and abilities to solve problems. I have worked with substance use disorders for many years and it is something that I am passionate about! I have had the pleasure of participating in the journey to recovery with many clients, cheering the successes and helping them gain a lesson in the setback. I have come to appreciate the resiliency that lies within us and the courage to overcome past traumas so many people experience.
My approach to counseling is to work cooperatively with my clients and build a partnership, we can then establish which goals you want to achieve during out time together. Building a strong working relationship is important to me and I appreciate feedback from clients to adapt and enhance how we work together. I want to inspire you to achieve your best life!

I am just getting started with Dr. DuPont. I love how we just don’t jump into trauma. Dr. DuPont recognizes that my state needs to find solace in exercises (for me personally) in order to truly get through the trauma. In the past I have dove right in and I was left exhausted, not just a little uncomfortable but extremely, and never broke through. I think she recognizes things I have learned in my past therapy sessions and honors that. It also validates how I feel about putting so many years into therapy. This was my last cry (so to speak for help) and it can be hard when your support system no longer knows how to help you. I found one session with Dr. DuPont to be extremely helpful (in a timely manner) and overall what I have been needing for years. I look forward to how I progress and with my busy schedule, being able to text or send voice messages helps so much. I feel empowered knowing I can get through this especially in my darkest mindsets. I am still just learning, and I can’t wait to explore more truths within myself and with Dr. DuPont. She goes out of her way to assist where she can. Highly recommend.
I took a desperate shot in the dark that BetterHelp would hook me up with someone that would/could actually help. This was synchronicity at its best.
Dr. Dupont was the perfect match. I have found her to be caring, compassionate, well-qualified and willing to go beyond the call of duty to help.
Bottom line is although I have insurance that covers this type of counseling within its own system, I will continue to pay out of pocket to stick with Dr. DuPont for as long as we both believe it is still beneficial. Compared to the counselors available within my insurance plan - I feel I'm getting the bargain of the century with Dr. DuPont.
I simply can't say enough good things about her - and I am also fairly impressed with the system (from a technical standpoint) that BetterHelp has setup.
She is the best
She has really good insight, is great at remembering things I mentioned months ago, and has been a huge resource for me.
I love my counselor! She is amazing and has helped me so much! I am so thankful for better help!
She’s been an instrumental force in having me stay sane.
Carrie has been a great support during my hard times at work. She is responsive and reacts to my questions accordingly. Has overall helped me feel better.
Dr. Dupont is knowledgeable, supportive and easy to work with. She touches base with me often and give me different tools and resources to work on the things that we discuss in therapy. I strongly recommend her as a therapist and I really like working with her.
Carrie is compassionate, knowledgeable and available.
Dr. DuPont is very supportive and offers useful tools and perspectives to help address the things you are working on with her. She is very pleasent and easy to work with even if the work itself is hard.
Working with Carrie has been incredibly helpful, since we began text based sessions a few weeks ago. Carrie is helping me remember my own strength and build new confidence, and I see its effects in every part of my life. She is helping me build a solid foundation for my life, starting with remembering/allowing myself to eat regularly. I need baby steps, and while I felt a bit silly and ashamed to ask for help when I first started with BetterHelp, I am so grateful for the small steps she's helping me work through, and the confidence I'm building as a result of each small step. Thank you, Carrie. To anyone who needs help with a complex set of issues that feel unconquerable, I highly recommend working with Dr. DuPont. She's helped me change my life, and with active engagement, she can help you change yours.
Has helped me work through some tricky situations. She has been very supportive and empowered me to deal with the future.
Carrie is very skilled and has already helped me a lot. She is a great listener and provides valuable insights to help me shift my thinking. I really enjoy working with her!
I’ve been working with Carrie for about a month now I’d say, and she’s always so helpful and willing to listen. She almost seems to know what I need to hear before I tell her my troubles for the day. She’s helped me realize I am worth it!
Carrie is very intuitive. I feel the more we message back and forth, the more she understands what it is that is troubling me more so than I do.
Carrie has exceeded my expectations of BetterHelp. She has been quick to catch on to my feelings and personality. She goes out of her way to keep our conversation and communication flowing and her insight is extremely professional. I am certainly thankful for her help!
