Casey Cassetty

(LCSW)

About Me

Greetings from Kentucky!
My name is Casey Cassetty and I am an LCSW. I have been a therapist for over 5 years, working in inpatient hospital settings, intensive outpatient, and private practice. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work at Western Kentucky University. My experience includes working with individuals experiencing trauma, addiction issues (both behavioral addictions such as sex/gambling and substance), career challenges, and OCD. I have also worked with clients who are struggling to identify happiness and meaning in their world.

I would describe my therapeutic approach as empathetic- there is at times a fear when starting with a new therapist. There is fear of judgement, fear of saying the wrong thing. I want you to know that I am here for all of it- the good, bad, and the ugly. I come from a nonjudgmental response as we trudge the road to Happy Destiny together. With a history of working in addictions, I understand the importance of working with someone who will work towards holding us accountable while holding a place for empathy as well. I have received training over the years that has increased my experiences with using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy Models.

My ultimate joy is helping folks overcome barriers that they otherwise thought were unbearable. One of my favorite sayings in regards to therapy is your therapist gets to be the one person in your life who does not have a say-so or opinion on the outcome of what you desire most. Our friends, spouses, family- they at times have a stake on our decisions and wants. As your therapist, my goal would be to get you to where you want, cheering you along as we witness your success, while coming from a place of empathy.

Casey is extremely personable and genuinely concerned about her clients. She makes me feel very comfortable and always asks the right questions in our sessions. I have very much enjoyed having her as my counselor and highly recommend her.

Casey is absolutely wonderful. She really helped me with my personal relationships, and helped identify some things that I didn't realise were affecting me so much. Since our very first session I have been in a much better place, and couldn't recommend her highly enough!

Casey does a good job of highlighting goals to focus on.

I like that Casey helps you figure yourself out. Why are certain things happening, what could be keeping you from moving forward, what to expect when dealing with all of that. I really like knowing what to expect.

Working with Casey has been a great experience, and she has provided great help as I work through such a dark time in my life.

This is my first time doing any kind of counseling; I have put this off pretty much my entire life, but Casey listens to me and wants to help me help myself. I can truly feel that. Her attitude helps me feel comfortable while we talk and there aren’t enough words in the world to thank her for what she has already helped me with.

I’m just two weeks in and this has all been a game changer. I would recommend Casey and BetterHelp for everyone.

An all round absolutely lovely human being! In just a matter of sessions Casey has really helped me understand myself, she is always happy and super supportive and just ready to give you time and understanding, which is all anyone can ask.

I’ve been working with Casey for only about a month now, and I can already tell that this was a huge step for me in the right direction. Immediately Casey made me feel that I can trust her and she is so kind and supportive and just in general...cool. I appreciate her homework assignments and she’s helped me discover issues that I didn’t even realize I had. I’m so grateful!

Casey is down to earth but with real wisdom that is making the difference in our interactions. In this turbulent time she’s been an anchor in the storm. She has a knack for gently tugging me away from the ledge with her optimistic but REAL logical talk with the right amount of gentleness and care.

She is amazing to say the least. I am at the darkest point I have ever been at in my life. And for a week I a half I went through hell alone. And then I started talking to Casey. It is so nice to be able to talk to someone and trust them with all of your thoughts feelings and emotions. She is super helpful and is constantly giving me new ways to look at issues or view things. She gives me worksheets to fill out. I couldn’t ask for a better person to help me. I don’t want to think of where I would be without her. She is committed to helping me. I will never be able to repay the kindness and honesty she has showed me. BEST THERAPIST EVER!!!!!!!
