About me

Welcome! My name is Cassandra but I prefer to be called Cassie. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (TX) with 6 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked in a variety of settings including outpatient, in-home, and schools which work has allowed me the experience of understanding a broad range of clinical concerns. My practice mostly surrounds helping clients through anxiety, depression, and family/relationship conflicts. Many times, these circumstances involve life transitions as well as grief and loss, and trauma. While I have spent my last few years working with adolescents, I also enjoy working with adults, couples, and families. I also greatly enjoy working with military families and take pride in being an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Like most people, I have struggled with my mental health and found myself in need of therapy. With that first vulnerable experience, my passion for mental health was ignited and my journey towards becoming a counselor began. I am incredibly passionate about helping people through life's changing seasons. While I cannot guarantee immediate results, I can promise that I will be a supportive guide to you in your times of need.

My counseling style is warm and inter-active. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Stigmatizing labels have absolutely no place in my practice. My approach is person-centered, holistic, multi-cultural, and collaborative. I primarily use evidence-based techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and solution-focused counseling. I also like to bring some lightness through humor on occasion, because let's face it, life feels infinitely easier when you are laughing. However, our dialog and treatment plan is tailored to meet your unique and specific individual needs - my goal is to always meet you where you are.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Cassie is like a very supportive, close friend who really listens and tries to understand my experience. She is always thoughtful in her interactions and quite the cheerleader when necessary. I’ve come such a long way since we began. I would recommend her to anyone seeking to reframe how they see the world and their place in it. Cassie is good people; I cannot thank her enough.
