About me
I am a Person-Centred Counsellor who offers support to individuals face to face, online and via the telephone.
People reach out for support through counselling for many reasons and choosing to engage in this work is an amazing act of self-care.
Counselling can help you:
* Deal with major life events like a bereavement or breakdown of a relationship.
* Recognise and understand patterns of behaviour and how you relate/interact with the world.
* Process and heal from past experiences.
* Find manageable coping mechanisms and make meaningful changes.
* Deepen your understanding of yourself and find self-acceptance.
I understand that taking those first steps on your counselling journey can feel very daunting, and maybe even a bit frightening, but I offer a safe and confidential space for you to explore any difficulties you are experiencing and create an empathetic, non-judgmental, warm, and friendly environment to us to work in. Every client is unique, so I am happy to undertake and support each session at your pace.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Catherine Alcock. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Catherine has been nothing but pleasant, friendly, funny, welcoming and professional throughout our sessions.
She’s such a genuine person and nothing seems like it’s forced, or that it’s work to her. She seems like she genuinely cares and was genuinely proud of me for the progress I had made and we’ve had a good laugh throughout our sessions. The way Catherine’s personality is has really kept me engaged when talking about sad and often serious issues and she’s very passionate about what she does.
I often go off on a tangent when speaking and lose my train of thought but Catherine always lets me talk, lets me get things off my chest but always refers me back to the original focus topic which really helps.
Overall Catherine has provided a brilliant service to me and I’m over the moon with the progress I have made, completely changing my mindset and drastically changing my mentality towards guilt, depression, blame, self confidence and worrying in a very short space of time.
I personally had no major incidents or trauma so
I struggled to analyse the root cause of my issues but Catherine identified several small things that I had overlooked. She has made little suggestions that are simple, but combined have have had a huge impact and these small pieces of the puzzle that I couldn’t find, are now all coming together to help build my bigger picture moving forwards.
