About me

Hello! I am a Licensed Psychologist (Psy.D.) in the state of Florida with 8 years of experience working as therapist and psychological evaluator in both outpatient and correctional settings. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, difficulties with anger management, relationship problems, and parenting issues. I have also helped many people with histories of addiction, physical trauma, and emotional abuse.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I consider the client/therapist relationship to be the fundamental foundation for successful counseling, so I strive to provide a laid-back and non-judgmental atmosphere, where trust between client and therapist can be rooted and nurtured. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), which are client centered and goal-oriented approaches that enable me to support, encourage, educate, and empower my clients. We will work together to identify faulty thinking and behavior patterns and learn better ways of coping with life’s stressors.

I commend you for having the courage to seek treatment at You’ve taken the first, and perhaps most difficult step! Change is not easy, but I am here to support you in overcoming life’s obstacles and becoming the best version of you that you can be!

I look forward to working with you!

Take care,

Dr. Cavinder

I have been seeing Dr. Cavinder for the past 4 months or so and honestly going to therapy and finding her is one of the best decisions in my life! She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which I was looking for in a therapist. She understands my concerns, is kind, not boring and every time I talk to her I feel better. She’s the best!

I've really enjoyed working with Dr Cavinder so far.
I don't necessarily find discussing my feelings helpful, so having a counselor who takes into account that I prefer a more pragmatic, yet kind, approach has been great. I feel as though I'm making actual concrete progress with my mental health.
