About Me

Hi all!

Thank you so much for looking at my BetterHelp page. I have worked in substance abuse and mental health since graduating with my master's degree in 2014.

I received my Bachelor of Science from Buffalo State College in Buffalo, NY. I had an inner calling to help others, and made the decision to move forward with my training as a therapist. I continued my education at Medaille College, where I earned a master’s degree in mental health counseling. In 2019, I became a fully licensed as an LPC and as an EMDR-therapist.

I have experience working with mothers and pregnant females in a long-term residential setting. I have successfully integrated evidence-based therapies into treatment court programs in order to provide more support to individuals struggling with addiction. I utilize an array of therapeutic techniques which helps me reach my clients on a personal level.

I believe it is essential for everyone to take care of themselves holistically- emotionally, socially, spiritually, and physically.

I have been working with Catherine for a short time but in these short few days and long conversations on the phone, it has really helped me to get through some rough days. Problem solving is something I do often and she was able to work through some of this with me and to give me things to think about when I hadn't considered it an option or even thought of it before. It really goes to show that having the right fit for your needs is what makes a session online work. I had a counselor before her who helped me to some degree but I don't feel like I got as much out of the sessions or had any type of set topic for them. With Catherine, it's been completely different. I've been able to express my thoughts and feelings, have been pushed, within reason, out of my comfort zone and have seen a bit of progress already though I still have a mountain of work to do and I'm sure each one will be just as difficult to work through at the very beginning but the more you push the easier it starts to become. The fear starts to melt away and a stronger version is revealed. I'm really looking forward to this version of myself in the future.

I just want to say thank you so much for everything you have already helped me with so far! I look forward to our conversations, even if I'm nervous and anxious the whole time. I can see this being a long term thing, something to use to work on all aspects of my past and life as I go on.
