About me
Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker in IN, KY, and OH with 17 years of experience. I am also a compassionate person who is focused on looking at your strengths. Although, I don't just praise you needlessly, I look for times when you have had successes and encourage more of it. I use a mindful awareness approach of looking at thoughts and feelings in order to get a little space from them. I am also trained in trauma therapy, and do work with your inner child, when needed. I will be a partner in helping you figure out what is best for you.
I have a variety of experiences and training. I have a Master of Science in Social Work. In addition, I also have two years of training in mindfulness coaching. My experience includes working with people with depression, anxiety, career decisions, life decisions, death and dying, and family conflict. I have worked as a therapist in inpatient facilities, and outpatient facilities.
I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, & relationship issues. I work with individuals to align to a more fulfilling and happier life. Showing up and facing difficult thoughts and feelings takes courage. I am here to support you in that process. I only work with adults individual. I don't do family therapy.
I also used mindfulness to help you deal with difficult thoughts and feelings. Mindfulness has been researched for the past 60 years and has a profound impact on the spirit, mind, and body. I have been using mindfulness daily for the past 10 years.
If you are driving in another state or on vacation in another state that I'm not licensed in, I cannot see you that day. You will need to physically be in the state you live in order to have an appointment with me.
If you think I may be a good fit for you, reach out to me.
With compassion,
Catherine Hughes, LISW, LCSW
