About Me

Hello! I am glad you are here and looking into BetterHelp. Deciding to get help is often times the hardest part of this process. But am I the right person to help? I am a licensed clinical social worker in Texas with 19 years of experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. I have worked in the school setting, as well as the clinical setting. This has allowed me the opportunity to work with clients with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, social and relationship issues, family issues, self-esteem and self-image issues, LGBTQ+, and ADHD. Given my work with children and families, I also have quite a bit of experience helping people that have suffered trauma or abuse.

The feedback I have gotten from clients and families is that I am genuine, compassionate but straight-forward, knowledgeable, and funny. My counseling style is engaging, warm, very interactive, and sprinkled with humor. I do not believe in stigmatizing labels. I am a strengths-based therapist which means that I assist clients in identifying and using their own strengths...even if they think they don’t have any! My therapeutic approach is client-centered and I use a combination of cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and solution-focused counseling, based on client needs.

I am happy to interact with you through the platform of your choosing. I do find it helpful to do at least one video chat to get to know one another. But we will chat in whatever way you prefer.

It takes courage to ask for help. Being vulnerable might feel weak, but it is actually a sign of strength. So if you are ready to take the next step, I am here to help and can’t wait to meet you!

I have been a client of Cat’s for almost a year now and unfortunately our time came to end due to laws restricting us. I must say she has great insight and is extremely valuable. Her knowledge and expertise has helped guide me out of one of the darkest times in my life. I could not thank her enough for the support she provided me and helped me see things alot clearer.

Cat is a great listener and communicator. She’s smart, positive and honest. I am very lucky to have been matched with her and would still be meeting with her if I could.

Cat is the first counselor that I was organically paired with in the system and rightfully so! She's my person! Her broad expertise covers my spectrum of need from a budding divorce to very complicated grief
to anger management.
She's been a Godsend. I'm healthier and happier because of Cat.
Absolutely recommend...EVERYONE needs BetterHelp in their lives.

I was nervous about starting therapy. have never been in therapy before and honestly never talk about my feelings to that degree with anyone I know, let alone someone I haven’t met. But Catherine was extremely kind and made it very easy! She has given me a lot of techniques that have helped, and she is kind enough to respond to my messages as soon as possible. I have only had 3 sessions and still need a lot of work but have learned a lot about my anxiety and how to cope in some areas. I am thankful for Betterhelp and Catherine!
