I have been practicing in a wide range of modalities for 24 years. I have been involved in non-profit organizations, private practice and school settings. My approach is to gain an understanding of what a member wants, and what they have tried. I like to understand their position and reflect different points of view so they can try new and different approaches to their challenge. I like to be a support and help them overcome challenges. I understand that people struggle at times in their lives and need the help of outside perspective to clarify choices.
I specialize in an understanding of marriage and family therapy as well as a developmental perspective. I have helped many people overcome struggles in relationships with partners and parenting. I find people feel warm and comfortable talking to me and appreciate the solution focused approach that I tend to have when counseling people. I have helped many people overcome terrible experiences with sexual abuse, physical abuse and neglect.
My specialty has been relationship counseling. I have studied marriage and family therapy and have had the most rewarding experiences helping couples rebuild connections.
I love connecting to people and helping to be a agent of change in people's lives!

Cathy has a wonderful way of both supporting you through your struggles and offering a third party insight into what you’re working through. She really listens, offers sound advice, and helps you come to conclusions with gentle guidance. When I have sessions with Cathy, it feels like I’m talking to a good friend. I can say whatever I want without feeling judged, and she’s very encouraging and motivational. She’s great at picking up where we left off and sometimes remembers things from our conversations that I don’t even recall having said. I highly recommend her as a counselor, especially to anyone who’s wanting a less “clinical” and more friendly approach to therapy.
Cathy is very patient and has been tremendous in helping me navigate various situations in my life. Her schedule is flexible, she offers many different ways to communicate, and she is always quick to respond. Working with her has been so helpful. I've learned a lot about myself and Cathy has given me great advice and tools I can use in my day to day life.
Cathy was an immensely kind and caring lady. She really made me feel comfortable opening up to her and exploring my inner thoughts.
Cathy has been incredibly understanding and supportive. She's been helping me understand my dreams and the behaviors of my ex.
She’s very good and very laid back.
Cathy is a very knowledgeable and respectful therapist. She is very easy to talk to and has such great and digestible advice. Her responsiveness makes me feel like a priority!
Cathy is very nice and caring. She checks in often to make sure I'm okay and gives me the advice I need. She responds fast which makes me feel like my problems are addressed in a timely manner and she pays a lot of attention to me.
Even after only 2 sessions I am feeling like I am on a great path to working through my struggles. Cathy helps me to internalize my insights and also offers great insights of her own to help me to better understand myself and where I need to focus to move forward.
Cathy is great! Very good listener and quick to respond. I had messed up scheduling an appt. and she set aside some time to talk even though I didn' t have an appt.
Cathy's response has always been timely, compassionate and wise. I appreciate knowing that there is this person there that I can reach out to when my life feels as though it is going belly up.
When I signed up I knew I needed help but was also in a busy time of life and wasn't able to touch base frequently at first. Cathy continued to check in and reassure me that this was the beauty of the online forum. There was no rush and we could check in when able. Even with the little interactions we did have, she made it clear she was there to support me and cater her care to whatever situation I had at hand. I really appreciated her thorough questioning right off the bat to get to know me.
I have anxiety and sometimes my need to talk comes at random parts of the day. Cathy always gets back to me within a reasonable amount of time and is always helpful. I find her to be very comfortable to talk to and she has help me understand myself so much better.
Cathy is a great help and meets me where I am at. That is very important for my growth and I appreciate having her expertise to coach me along and provide tools as I tackle my day-to-day stresses.
