About me
Welcome! Congratulations on taking this step towards achieving your best life! We are all a work in progress and we can all benefit from an objective, non-judgmental and supportive ear! I would be honored to assist you on your journey.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have provided counseling for over 20 years to clients of all ages with a large range of issues. I also have advanced certification in supervising counseling interns. Although I gravitate towards Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral theories and techniques, I have been trained in a variety of modalities and I am able to match those techniques to your specific needs. I believe in being solution focused and client centered. If you want a safe place to offload your thoughts and feelings, we can do that! If you would like to identify specific goals and consistently measure progress towards those goals, we can do that too. You will tell me what you would like to accomplish and I will support you to make that happen.
I am a firm believer in a holistic approach to wellness. I believe that in order to be functioning at our best, we must explore issues of the mind, body and spirit. We are at peace when the mind, body and spirit are all working together in harmony. I have explored and am open to many forms of spirituality. Spirituality helps to foster hope and well-being by acknowledging that which is greater than ourselves (whatever you define that to be). I have also received certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and I am certified to teach spin and TRX classes.
Although I am open to all types of clients, I have, over the years, developed some specialties. I specialize in Women's Issues which often include relationship issues, career development/workplace challenges, grief and loss, history of trauma and/or abuse, empowerment/self-esteem, development of healthy coping skills, moderation of emotions, anxiety issues, to name a few! I have also worked successfully with the LGBTQ+ community.
I look forward to getting to know you and assisting you on your path to growth!
