Chandra Cummings, LPC, LCMHC
About me
I have over 15 years experience in the behavioral health services. I am a trauma-informed clinician with experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families. My approach to therapy is person-centered which means I engage in empathetic listening and in creating a supportive environment that helps to encourage and motivate. I believe that every person has the capacity to change and reach his/her potential. My priority will be to help you reach your treatment goals.
I believe that you, as the client, knows best. My job as your therapist is to 1) Facilitate an environment that will result in positive change and 2) Empower and motivate you so you can reach your fullest potential by decreasing guilt, insecurities, defensiveness and closed mindedness so you can think in new ways and embrace new experiences in your life.
I will be genuine with you. I will demonstrate unconditional positive regard and empathy for whatever you are going through, meaning I will not judge you, but will fully accept you as you are. Everyone is different. Everyone has a view of his or her own situation and how to manage it. You views and ideas will be trusted and respected.
I look forward to working with you!

Chandra is amazing. She is thoughtful, prepared, intentional, and her insights and perspectives are very helpful. I can tell that my growth is important to her and it is clear she is thinking and working on strategies for me outside of our meetings. I really appreciate that. With her I feel confident that I will make progress and that our sessions are going somewhere.
