I’m glad/pleased you have taken the opportunity to check out some of these profiles. I am Rod Lind, Licensed Professional Counselor. I have 25 years of counseling experience working in a variety of settings to include a chemical dependency clinic working with parolees and probationers, co-facilitating a sex offenders group, a university counseling providing mental health and career counseling, working with soldiers and family members both on post and in private practice. I have been offering telemental health counseling for the past 5 years.
In recent years, I have found myself attracted to working with those who have experienced grief, shame, low self-esteem, conflicted relationships, trauma and other anxieties. I have also become well grounded in working with adoptees (I am one) with their unique concerns as well as with the reunion process. I am also open to addressing the needs of birth parents.
I have taken the opportunity to learn a variety of counseling and therapeutic modalities. This gives me the ability to tailor my interventions to my client’s needs. (Just in case you’re interested, these include: psychodynamic and existential perspectives as well as Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Family Systems, Hypnosis and various Energy Psychology modalities.) I do not use modalities I have not used during my personal therapy work. I have learned, both personally and professionally, that the quality of the client-counselor relationship is critical to a positive counseling outcome. This means that you must experience a non-judgmental, emotionally safe and listened-to environment.
I believe that you have the resources within to bring forth the changes you most desire. From my perspective, one does not go into battle to force the wanted changes – one creates the environment to allow change to happen.
I welcome the opportunity to be a part of your journey!

Not every type of therapy works for every type of situation. From experience with different counselors and friends in therapy sometimes you need a counselor who give you a "kick in the pants" or help you confront your dysfunction. Maybe Rod can work with that type of patient too.
For me, Rod is kind and patient, but also holds you accountable for the changes you say you are trying to make. He acts initially as a partner, and then as a coach.
If that's they type of experience suited for you, then I highly recommend Rod.

Rod is the first therapist I've worked with remotely. Before beginning teletherapy, I was a bit skeptical if it would help. I was pleasantly surprised how much Rod has been able to help. He is guides me to really dig deep and HEAL as opposed to just learning how to cope. We are getting to the core wound and repairing it. He is kind, compassionate, and funny. Rod is an amazing therapist! Thank you, Rod!

Rod is wonderful. In a time of crisis in my life, he has helped me see different perspectives. He does not judge my thoughts or me, nor does he get bothered if I cry (which I do often). I appreciate that he allows me to voice my feelings and is great at listening. Thank you Rod!

He is experienced and provides necessary tips to cope with stress. The most importantly, he teaches me how to communicate with myself; listen to myself and act just like myself.

Rod listens, respects and makes you feel relaxed during the session. He allows me to voice my concern then smoothly and unobtrusively guides me to revisit the problems I need addressed with useful tools that I have found very useful.

Rod is truly the most helpful counselor/therapist I’ve had so far. Not only is he so kind and accepting - but he paces you, slows you down, and helps you focus on the things that matter most to you. I have so enjoyed our work together and I see little improvements every day. I don’t intend to stop working with him any time soon, but wanted to pause and let anyone wondering know that Rod will 100% help you make yourself a better version of you!

He was able to “see” my stress state and responded in a way to help me redirect. I have since been able to take a step back and see more of a bigger picture. I will still struggle in places, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Dr. Lind has a way of phrasing things that just makes sense. He instantly makes you feel comfortable and takes things at your pace. 10/10 recommend.

Finally I'm beginning to understand my underlying issues
Written on Jul 08, 2019 after therapy with Charles for 1 month on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, relationship issues, and self esteem
I've only had a few sessions with Rod, but he already has helped me greatly. I find him very calming and non-judgmental, making interesting, appropriate suggestions in a non-intrusive, natural way that I have found very useful and effective. His experience is evident.
I also personally feel more in sync with his theoretical orientation. This is a deeper, higher order of therapy than the all-too-common, run-of-the-mill course of programmed, cookie-cutter CBT worksheets, trite "live, laugh, love"-like suggestions, or a never-ending stream of Rogerian, open-ended questions about how you feel about everything you mention in session. Those things may have their place, but Rod's style and techniques are much more sophisticated and seem to work effectively on a variety of levels at once. I am very glad to have been paired with this therapist and look forward to doing further work.

I am going through a REALLY tough time right now. I’m so grateful to have Rod as a resource. I’m not sure how I could do this without him.
