Charlotte Hagins, LCMHC
About me
Hello! I'm Charlotte. I have been working as an art therapist and counselor since 2010, and as a fully Licensed Clinical Mental Health Clinician (LCMHC) since 2018. I graduated from George Washington University in 2010 with my degree in Art Therapy Counseling and began work in community mental health and, most recently, group practice.
I work with clients to identify their needs and wants that have fallen to the wayside. I provide a respectful space of acceptance to explore ways to shape your life into the one that best supports your needs and wants. Through various modalities, we can address blockages and increase your momentum on your own timeline. I specialize in depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, eating disorders, life-adjustments, and more. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Art Therapy and several other counseling methods tailored to meet your needs. I am here to help you find your own path and to be present. I invite you to reach out to learn about the ways that these kinds of therapy may benefit your process.
On a personal note, I grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina and had lived in many other places since then, and decided to return to its beauty. When not working, I love to gather with friends, sketch outside, and practice keyboard. I look forward to learning about your own self-care!

Charlotte is an excellent therapist and does a great job at making me feel heard. I feel that I can talk with her about anything. She always shows up and gives 100% - I don't know how she does it, but it's very impressive.

Charlotte is the first therapist who made me feel truly comfortable. She is easy to relate to and open up to. I felt like she listened to everything I said, and even remembered things that I had said weeks in the past. She was able to understand me from just talking to me over the phone. Charlotte said things that made me feel validated in ways that no one else has. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is trying to build their self confidence and understand themselves and their emotions. She made the process very manageable for me.

I transitioned to BetterHelp after traditional therapy was no longer an option for me during COVID-19. I was a little unsure of what to expect, but when I got matched with Charlotte and started sharing my background with her, I automatically felt supported and validated. Charlotte is an excellent counsellor, and her kind and compassionate nature shines through her communications. She is very attentive, keeps track of the things I want to talk about, and intuitively knows how deep into the emotions I am comfortable with diving into. She encourages me to challenge my viewpoints without pushing me too far, and I always feel that she meets me where I am at. I am so grateful to have her support!

I was skeptical about online therapy, but I can't imagine a better match than what I've found with Charlotte. She is intuitively fantastic at helping me. Patient and flexible in terms of treatment. I'm very happy with my continued work with Charlotte.
