I typically practice a holistic, person-centered approach. Holistic in that we will explore topics such as diet, exercise and self-care, to name a few. Person centered, in that your own understanding of your experience is the platform from which we will begin. Person-centered therapy is a movement away from the therapist’s traditional role as an expert and a leader.
My style is to work as a guide in this relationship and one who will, while utilizing a deeply thoughtful process, ask the big questions. I will do my best to facilitate your self-discovery, self-acceptance, and move you toward positive growth. This process should provide you with tools that will give you a greater self-confidence, a stronger sense of identity, strengthen your ability to build healthy interpersonal relationships and the wisdom to make your own decisions.
I have a fair amount of experience with trauma, adult children of alcoholics, adult children of emotionally immature parents and related symptoms such as anxiety and depression. I prefer to address the root cause of the symptoms and most of what I've seen stems from one of the already noted experiences.
Therapeutic interactions are intensive experiences. I will bring my best effort to this interaction and I expect you to do the same. I prefer clientele who have a strong desire to experience change, who will commit to the process and are willing to implement suggestions. Be prepared to take notes. In my experience, those factors have a significant impact on your payback. Also, I do not get paid if you do not get yourself on my schedule. And while I can appreciate the ambivalence that accompanies this potential interaction, I hope you can appreciate the absolute lack of ambivalence, on my end, regarding the need to make a living. Dry humor there but true, nonetheless.
I will normally check messages multiple times in my work day, however there will be times that I may not be able to get back to you as quickly as I'd like. I appreciate your patience and understanding in this.

I’ve been seeing Charlotte for a few months and she is phenomenal. She creates a warm, friendly atmosphere but isn’t afraid to get into the guts of the hard stuff. Texting gives me time to really think deeply about the questions she asks and I don’t feel pressured to have an answer right away. Charlotte was an amazing match for me. I came to her completely overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted and needing guidance. She always provided reassurance and excellent resources for me to use. Even when life was chaotic she always checked in and let me know she was available. I would seek Charlotte for anything in the future as well.
