It is my belief that counseling should be tailored to the needs of the client and based on where they currently are. I am committed to meeting those needs. My current approach to therapy has yielded successful results in many of my clients lives and in a variety of ways. My approach to treatment is warm and empathetic and our work together will be based on your strengths, abilities, needs and preferences. My approach combines Person Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, Rational- Emotive Behavior, Solution-Focus, Brief Therapy, Positive Psychology and Mindfulness therapy along with other theoretical models as needed.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Masters Level Certified Addictions Professional, Certified Sex Therapist and EMDR Trained clinician in the state of Florida with over 10 years of experience in the helping field. I also hold a certification as a Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I previously served as an Adjunct Psychology Professor at a local private university. I have an Associates of Arts Degree in Psychology from Polk Community College. A Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida and a Masters Degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Webster University. I have extensive experience in case management, teaching, Client Assessment/Evaluation, Crisis Intervention, risk assessments, individual, family and group therapy.
