Chelsey Rodriguez, LCSW
About me
My name is Chelsey Rodriguez. I live and work here in Maine where I am licensed as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC). I have been working in the field for over a decade, and have been practicing therapy with individuals, families and in group settings for 3 years.
Most of my experience is in treating mood / psychotic / personality disorders, substance use, PTSD, and emotional regulation / anger managenent. Throughout my career I have worked with children, young adults, adults individually and with families. I also facilitate a variety of groups in other settings. Some of my preferred modalities include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), harm reduction/behavioral change, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and narrative therapy.
My goal is to provide an authentic and active environment for you to process and synthesize your thoughts, emotions and experiences. It can be difficult to acknowledge our own suffering and struggles and even more so to seek support. We may feel overwhelmed or frustrated that we aren’t at peace with ourselves, in our relationships or with the world around us. I do believe in the radical transformation that can occur when we turn inward to face and heal ourselves, for ourselves- which is truly what drives me to do this work.
Each experience working with someone in therapy is entirely different. I appreciate the uniqueness of each of our paths. Both personally and in my work, I value transparency, compassion and empowerment and I seek to continually challenge and improve myself as a clinician.
Find a breath, and appreciate the fact that you’ve taken such a positive step for yourself. I’ve always found that there are 2 states of mind we can choose to believe in, hope or disparity, hold onto the hope wherever you find it.
