About Me

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, who has experience working with both individuals and couples. I utilize an integrative approach to therapy by drawing on training and clinical experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment Theory and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT). My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship issues, communication, affairs, pornography, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, sexual trauma and pregnancy related issues.

I am passionate about working with individuals, couples and families. I believe that providing clients with a safe, secure and empathetic environment is the first step in the healing process. I aim to help individual clients work though their challenges in ways that create new and positive experiences that lead to real change and wholeness in their lives. As a marriage therapist, I look to support couples in improving communication, reestablishing respect, restoring trust and strengthening their connection as a couple.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Health from Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio, where I also enjoyed studying Theology. I take pride in being a counselor because I enjoy engaging people to discover their strengths while also empowering them to live their life with passion and purpose.

Cherie has helped me through a rough time recently and I don't know what I would have done without her help. She listens really well, asks all the right questions, and has great suggestions that I can immediately apply in my life. I never feel judged or feel like my problems are too insignificant to bring up. She is clearly an expert in her field and understands exactly what I need help with each session. She has been such a great help to me these past few months.

Cherie is very responsive and she is a good listener. She gave me ideas on how to think about things differently, and she tells me how much progress she has seen. She is empathetic and she offers tangible solutions to my issues. She was also flexible when my tot wanted to join the video session and made him giggle while still keeping the conversation on task. If you're a person of faith, she offers ideas on how to integrate your faith with your personal growth.

Having never done any sort of counseling or therapy I was really nervous going in to this. I was pleasantly surprised to find I felt comfortable with Cherie's approach immediately. While we haven't had any verbal contact, her message responses are very prompt and supportive. I've felt zero pressure to discuss anything I'm not comfortable with which has helped me open up more than I ever have before.
After a few weeks of treatment with Cherie I find myself feeling less like I'm hopeless and helpless and more like I might have hope for myself and my future. I would highly recommend her service to others.
