Hello. My name is Cherise Johnson. I am a licensed clinical social worker in Illinois with over 12 years of experience in the social work field. I hold a doctorate in Organizational Leadership with a focus in Emotional Intelligence and Leadership. I also have Masters Degrees in Social Work and Educational Leadership. My experience includes work with a diverse populations of varying age, sex, race, and cultures. I have had the opportunity to work in a multitude of settings, including hospitals, schools, community based agencies, and intensive in-home support. I have been blessed to be able to have each of these opportunities and I am sure that the knowledge that I have gained will be a benefit for you.
My therapeutic approach is first and foremost person-centered, allowing those that I work with to have active involvement in their personal growth. I make it obligatory to treat each of my clients with the respect, integrity, compassion, and empathy that they deserve. I am trained in a variety of therapeutic treatments, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Therapy. Having a multitude of treatment approaches in my toolkit allows me to utilize an eclectic approach to better meet my clients where they are and assist in getting them where they would like to be.
