About me

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, in Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee. My bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries was received from Valley Forge Christian College, Woodbridge, VA, and the master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA.

My experience as a professional counselor spans 7 years; life-long service experience includes volunteering in evangelical, community and social environments. The techniques of cognitive or dialectical behavioral therapy and play therapy are taught to the client and supported by techniques like reframing negative thoughts, identification of triggers, and relaxation methods. Clients are encouraged to practice at home using worksheets, bibliotherapy-reading, games, exercise activities, evangelical and scholastic materials.

My experience includes serving people from all walks of life. With BetterHelp my client demographic are individuals from 13-100. Couple therapy is a needed service, however it is very difficult to do remotely. Many members of our society are suffering with anxiety and depression; children with behavioral challenges and such. I use the techniques of trauma-based cognitive behavioral or dialectical therapy for mental health personality disorders. Adults with dual diagnoses (addictions and problematic substance use) issues require specific therapy protocols. By providing a comprehensive counseling service I am able to support the patient’s success and affect long-term behavioral, emotional/social balance. These influences guide the client to greater life functionality. My knowledge of mental health issues and their impact on the whole person are pivotal to improved mental health. I treasure the ability to remain flexible, express a professional attitude, and present genuine regard to each client that opens the door to deep therapeutic alliances.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Cherrie Lindsey. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I've only had one session with Cherrie Lindsey, so I don't have a preface to review her as we've only had a getting to know you session and ask what are my concerns. I feel it will be better to ask after a few sessions.

Cherrie Lindsay, quick to listen to what is on your mind. She offers solutions. See Sends help tips. She follows up after every sessions. And even when we don’t have sessions she checks in on me.
