Cheryl Cox

LCSW, LISW

About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Kentucky and Ohio. I have a Bachelor of Psychology from Northern Kentucky University and a Master’s of Social Work from University of Kentucky. I have at least 13 years of social work and therapy experience.

Throughout my career, I have worked as a case manager and therapist serving diverse populations: IDD (Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled), foster care, in-school therapy with students K-12, families in child protective services, persons living with HIV and LGBTQ+, and veterans. I have experience in inpatient settings as well.

My focus is on a strength-based and person–centered approach while utilizing several therapeutic techniques to meet the client where they are. I treat a variety of mental health concerns, such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss, decision making, family and relationship concerns and common day to day struggles such as work and responsibilities at home.

Individual growth is encouraged by continued and intense focus on client’s goals. I also work hard to put the client at ease by practicing empathy, compassion, understanding, and possessing a down to earth attitude. I also feel that having a sense of humor aids in building rapport.

I look forward to working with you.
