I have been specially trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR. While it is true that EMDR is not for everyone, EMDR is the closest thing to magic I have encountered as mental health professional. I have also been specially trained in Infant Mental Health (0-6) so I can be particularly helpful to new parents.
My approach is eclectic. I practice Cognitive Based Therapy, or CBT, and I integrate concepts and techniques from mindfulness-based approaches like Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, or DBT. I also include concepts from Internal Family Systems, IFS, and Psychodynamic Counseling (specifically Jungian) as needed. For example, shadow-type work and dream analysis.
