About me

I am a licensed clinical social worker in Oregon with eight years of experience working mostly as an individual therapist. My primary focus is on helping individuals cope with the often unseen effects of childhood trauma, which can show up for us later in life under a variety of names: depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, bipolar disorder, psychosis, some form of addiction. You also don't need to have one of these diagnoses to find yourself struggling and needing outside support.

In our deeply isolated and atomized society, seeking help can be a radical act. It can also require a leap of faith: you're trusting that someone you don't know will be able to help you navigate the challenges you face. By being here, you have already begun the work that will set you on a path toward greater connectedness, contentment, and meaning.

You may be grieving a loss, or struggling to move forward, or caught in a seemingly intractable conflict within yourself or with others in your life. You may feel stuck in place, trapped in old habits, or merely surviving when you want to thrive. Whether your concerns are big-picture or small, I believe in the power of connecting deeply and authentically with others to bring about the truest expression of ourselves. I've found success guiding others with this relationship-based, trauma-focused approach, and I'm confident that together we can bring to light your most authentic self.

“Close your eyes and imagine the best version of you possible. That’s who you really are. Let go of any part of you that doesn’t believe it.” – C. Assaad

Chris is kind and compassionate. He helps me look at things with a fresh perspective, but in a validating way. He has helped me tremendously in just a short amount time. I wish everyone had someone like Chris to help them navigate their complicated feelings.

Chris is kind, professional, empathetic, and understanding - after a lifetime of mistrusting and disliking therapists in general due to my own trauma, he is and has been exactly what I needed to start working through my issues.

Written on Aug 31, 2021 after therapy with Chris for 4 months on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, self esteem, and career difficulties

I feel like he is good at guiding our keeping the conversation going which is nice because I feel very awkward and whiny talking about myself... he is comfortable to talk to always makes me feel like he is actually listening and cares about what I'm saying!

Written on Apr 26, 2021 after therapy with Chris for 1 month on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, grief, intimacy-related issues, parenting issues, self esteem, anger management, and coping with life changes
