About Me

Congratulations on taking the first step toward personal growth, healing and change! I will help you identify your goals, the roadblocks in the way and action steps you can take to overcome those hurdles. The important part (and the most challenging) is identifying the underlying, root cause of the problems rather than treating the superficial symptoms. Sometimes this can occur in only a couple of sessions. Sometimes it takes longer, but it is always based on your specific situation and your goals. I promise to be gentle, patient and challenging as you make real progress.

Education & Professional Experience:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania. I received my Masters in Counseling (MACO) and my Master in Divinity (MDiv) from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 2007. Since then I've gained extensive experience in a wide range of therapeutic settings involving, families, couples, children, teens and individuals of all ages. My clinical approaches include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy and Christian Counseling.

Other Professional/Personal Experience:
In addition to my professional/clinical skills, I also bring "real world" experience to the counseling setting. My wife and I have been married since 2007 and we have 3 sons (ages 3, 9, and 11). We spent several years as houseparents at a boarding school for teenagers. We currently operate an internet-based sales business and run a small farm/homestead. We are highly involved in our church. These practical experiences help me relate to you and your struggles with fresh eyes. I understand the abstract counseling theories, but I also understand how to apply them practically to the very real struggles you are facing.

What you can expect:
Everybody is different. Your goals and struggles are unique to you. Therefore my role is to come alongside you and help you to identify your goals and the underlying issues standing in your way. Once you begin addressing those underlying issues, many of the superficial symptoms that brought you begin to fade away and you are on your way to healing. Although therapy is challenging (like all good things), I also strive to make it humorous and fun. You are on a positive tragectory! There is joy, peace and fun involved in that journey.

Who am I the best fit for:
~Your faith can be an important factor in your success. I am a Christian, and I have the most success helping people who are guided by their Christian faith. It's not a requirement however.
~Individuals struggling with anxiety, stress, PTSD, depression, relationship issues, life changes, career changes and young adult issues
~Lifestyle addictions (spending, gambling, porn, over-eating, exercise, etc)
~Families, couples, pre-marital counseling and parents.

I'd be honored to begin listening to your story right away!

I really am lucky that I was paired with Chris as my therapist. He is spot on with his counseling with me regarding my PTSD from a trauma I experienced, as well as giving me the tools needed to help me in my marriage and communication. I would highly recommend Chris!

Can't say anything bad about Chris. He thoroughly listens and really hears what you have to say and gives thoughtful and intentional insights in return. He always response to emails with well thought out responses and really helps guide you in the right direction of identifying your thoughts, feelings, motivations etc. Speaks to like a real friend, is understanding but holds you accountable in your therapy journey, but most importantly you can tell he truly cares and wants to help make you a better, happier, healthier version of yourself.

Chris by far asks the best questions and makes the best deductions out of all of my previous therapists. I have 5 years getting therapy and I've seen three therapists before Chris. I wasn't sure how much more i could learn after so much "experience " however, Chris brought in a new perspective that i have no been provided before.

I like how Chris keeps the session in check and makes sure we talk about certain points of how I felt and stay on course with my goals. Great listener as well!

Spent three sessions with Chris. I am glad I started this process. He got right to the source of the issue and started working constructively before the second session.
