I am a mental health counselor licensed in Florida working as a therapist with clients coping with a breadth of concerns. I have worked with clients with concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, addictions, divorce and separation, bipolar disorder, grief and trauma. I have also worked in various treatment modalities such as outpatient, residential, in-home, and telehealth.
My counseling style is warm yet direct. I believe that the counseling relationship is one in which the therapist and client can be honest with one another and open to feedback from one another. I believe that my role is to be an agent of change by assisting you in identifying your goals and making progress towards them. I believe in treating everyone with respect, compassion and in a non-judgmental manner. My approach is intentionally integrative because each client’s needs are different, and I believe that a cookie cutter approach to therapy is counterproductive. Regarding therapeutic orientations, I tend to combine cognitive-behavioral and rational emotive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, with a humanistic approach. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs and sincerely value your feedback regarding the interventions and approach that we decide to take.
Regarding couples counseling, I tend to utilize the Gottman method and solution-focused approaches in order to assist the couple in identifying the core issues causing the discord or dysfunction and like to begin with a practical approach.
It takes courage and allowing oneself to be vulnerable to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. I am excited that you are ready to take that step I am excited to support and empower you through this process.
I look forward to working with you!

I refer Christian to everyone, working with him feels more like a coach and I love that.
So helpful to have someone to talk to and help you through your struggles
so easy to communicate with and the sign up and online process/app is super easy. love this!! makes it easy access for anyone so this is a plus for us!
I didn’t know therapy could be this way. The way CJ and I communicate is so conducive to my growth as an adult and healing the scar tissue of my youth. I have and will continue to recommend Better Help as the best form of therapy I have found, for myself.
CJ is the best. I would 100% recommend him to anyone. He follows up and always checks in on me. Definitely goes the extra mile.
For lack of better words, Christian has been a life saver. Seeking help is nothing short of intimidating, but I never expected to feel so comfortable and understood--especially at such a state in my life. He's keen, sharp, compassionate and personable. I couldn't ask for anyone better.
Christian is amazingly down to earth, and helpful.
CJ really got to the root of my problems utilizing methods that I could easily understand and practice. He was always positive but not afraid to tell it like it is. If you’re struggling, he is definitely one to help!
I was initially very hesitate about looking for help online. I've worked with others in person in the past and it was hard enough to get myself to go set those up. I felt like I was never actually moving forward and it became harder and harder to believe that I could get help. Working with Christian changed that completely for me from our very first appointment. He's genuine, humble, knowledgable and driven in a way that matches me perfectly.
Christian Dopico has been a wonderful therapist/counselor, so far. He intently listens, great to bounce ideas off of and truly helps you reach your own conclusion and not push his own on you. He has been a very humble guy and fun to talk to.
