About me
Welcome! I believe healing is a process best done within the parameters of a safe and trusting relationship. When we build a relationship through a therapeutic alliance, we are able to break down the intricacies of the pains and traumas that are causing impairments and limitations in your life. I am a trauma therapist in Tennessee with experience in depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, domestic violence, LGBTQI issues, attachment issues, phase of life problems, and parenting skills.
I believe that each presenting problem deserves to be heard and understood in a safe environment. Through my therapeutic lens, I believe that the current problems you are experiencing are mutations of skills you previously developed in your life to feel loved, accepted, and safe. For example: if at a young age you learned that you needed to make straight A's to experience recognition and love in your household, that pattern likely develops into putting in extra work in your occupational work, romantic relationships, and social commitments. When you don't experience the same love and acceptance you received from your care-givers when you made those good grades, you likely are not going to feel fulfilled in those dynamics. This can cause a multitude of reactions: anger towards those around you, shame within yourself, feelings incompetent, pushing yourself even harder, or many more. What was once adaptive and helpful in getting your emotional needs met is now maladaptive, and potentially causing more harm than good. Together, we get to identify what these maladaptive skills are and determine what other skills you've been neglecting all these years.
I would describe myself as down-to-earth and genuine. I take the time to learn about you and each of the life-events that you feel have shaped you. I believe all folx are created equal and am always willing to learn more about the culture and lifestyle you have chosen for your life. It would be a privilege to hold these hardships with you.

Christina is an excellent therapist. After a year of sessions with her I have gone through the weeds, and am finally living as my full authentic self. She has been a great listener as I dig through past and present trauma. She helped me identify and live in my values, and reminded me always of the bigger picture. I would recommend her to anyone who has been through trauma and is struggling to find themselves.

Christina is a very skillful listener. This is my first experience in therapy and I am glad that I was able to match with her. She always has thoughtful responses and helps me piece together the context of my traumas and fears. I am glad to be connected with her through betterhelp and would definitely recommend her as a therapist.

Christina is a thoughtful listener and helps guide the conversation without being too direct. She is intentional in wanting to learn about you and reflects on how to best guide you to your own insights while providing her own recommendations when opportune. Highly recommend.
