About me

Hello and welcome! I am so proud of you for taking this first step in wellness. Even if you are just looking to get an idea and are not ready to commit, this is a big step. Thinking about opening up and being vulnerable to a new person is incredibly courageous and can be overwhelming. I am here to help you; we can go at your pace and comfort level. My goal as a therapist is to help you where you are in life and to work collaboratively to build a plan that will meet your goals. I will also provide you with tools and techniques that you can use to empower yourself to make the changes needed to meet your goals now and in the future.

A little about myself: I am a marriage and family therapist licensed in the state of Minnesota. I graduated with my masters degree in 2015 and I have over five years of direct client care in a wide variety of experiences. My career has lead me to work with individuals, families, couples, children and group therapy. I have experience in helping people conquer challenges relating to anxiety, depression, transitions/adjustments to life changes, relationship/family struggles, trauma, abuse, loss and grief.

One area I have particular interest in is helping women and men navigate through life changes and transitions. I have found through my diverse experiences that one of the common threads that makes us all human is transition and change. Transitions can be overwhelming, isolating and challenging, even when the change is planned or expected. Stress that change brings can be debilitating and I am here to help you navigate whatever change or life transition you are going through.

As a marriage and family therapist I like to look at how people and relationships interact and affect a person; I believe that we are constantly shaped by those around us and who we interact with. My approach is to be supportive, while also encouraging clients to take the steps needed to help resolve the challenges they are going through. My goal is to be a member of your support team, a person that you can rely on to help you where you are currently and to work towards who you want to become. I like to use narrative therapy and solution-focused therapy approaches in helping my clients reach their goals. I believe that we are the creator of our own stories and that sometimes we need help and to re-focus our goals in order to get the outcomes we desire.

Many times in life we are given challenges that we may or may not be able to conquer alone. If you are finding that you are needing help and support I would love to be part of your team. I bring an open, non-judgmental, approach to my work. Please reach out to let me know how I can help you reach your goals. I look forward to working with you!

Chrissy is a great partner for me. She helps me find the right tools needed to manage through life’s challenges. She’s a great listener and offers strong, realistic advice. I trust being authentic and honest about myself with her. That’s huge to me. I’ve referred numerous friends to Better Help and specifically to Chrissy. My friends deserve her help too!

Chrissy has been an integral part of my journey through a life-changing event that occurred in February 2021. Shortly after the event, I got connected with Chrissy and she has been with me ever since. It's so easy for me to bring up difficult things to talk about in my life with her that I otherwise have a hard time talking about with anybody else. Without judgment, we talk through it and she offers empathetic and helpful ways of processing things emotionally and how to approach situations. Each session is different, and that's what I love about Chrissy. Some sessions are times I have a lot to unpack and work through with her and we trudge through the mud together. I leave the session feeling a little lighter and with a clearer mindset. Other sessions I'm in need of a lighter conversation and she is very receptive to that, as well. I don't utilize the messaging part of BetterHelp as often, but when I do, she responds to my messages in a timely manner and offers great support and insight as much as she does in our sessions. She is very flexible with my crazy work schedule and if I need to make any last minute rescheduling. She remembers so many details of my life and my journey, I don't know how she does it! It's how I know she truly cares about my well-being. Chrissy feels like a close friend, mentor, therapist, and family member all in one. I couldn't recommend her enough!

Chrissy is such an awesome therapist. She is great at processing feelings while also teaching tools to be able to process feelings on your own. She is very easy to talk to and always makes sure to address all concerns during and between sessions.

Chrissy has helped me through big and small challenges. She’s helped me navigate burnout, toxic workplace, job loss, pandemic stress, career transition, family issues, and grief after the loss of a friend. She listens and gives perspective that helps me to see whatever challenge I’m facing with a different lens, or a reframing of a situation. She is so skilled at helping people navigate through grief and loss, including ambiguous losses.
