Christina Laydon

(LICSW)

About Me

Hello, my Name is Christina Laydon and I am an LICSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), in the state of Massachusetts . I have been working with individuals and families for 17 years and love what I do. I have worked with individuals in both in-patient and out-patient settings, who have struggled with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, mood issues, OCD, relationship issues, and parenting problems .

My counseling style is respectful and interactive. I really strive to have my clients feel comfortable and listened to. I believe in working together to try and identify desired treatment goals and manageable steps to achieve them. I meet my clients where they are at and offer guidance and suggestions when needed, but also really listen to what they want to work on and what is important to them. My approach combines a variety of treatment modalities, such as Cognitive-Behavioral, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Psycho-education. Each treatment plan will be designed to meet my client's specific needs and concerns.

I am so glad that you have taken this step towards taking charge and making some lasting changes in your life. It takes strength to reach out and I am confident that we can work together to reach your goals.

I look forward to working with you!

Christina is an extraordinary LICSW. She is able to meet me at my level, give me the time and space to process, and teach me the skills I need to move forward. Her approach with me has been to identify my hobbies and interests and tailor her counseling in a way that respects my personality, experiences, and goals. I have been working with Christina since March 2019 and I could never have imagined transforming into the person I am today. Her ability to support, listen, and encourage is unparalleled. Allowing myself to trust Christina gave me the opportunity to create a better life. I put in the work and she was there to guide me every step of the way. I cannot recommend Christina enough.

Christina Laydon has been an invaluable support during a very difficult time. I highly recommend her if you are looking for a compassionate, supportive therapist who listens well, understands your concerns, offers helpful insight, and resources.

I love Christina, she listens incredibly well, and gave me concrete things I can do to help, or at a minimum acknowledge my behavior and try and correct it.

Working with Christina is a great experience. I feel like she really understands and empathizes with my concerns and problems while keeping the focus positive and constructive. She’s got a broad background and has been able to recommend a number off different techniques to try, fully supporting my efforts in doing so.

Christina has been a huge help these past few months. She provided me with worksheets and links to help me understand how and why I’m feeling certain ways and they have been very insightful. I only communicated with her through massaging because of my schedule and dislike of video chatting with people I don’t know and she respected that. However, because of this the communication between us was very separated. Sometimes it took days for her to respond or for me to respond which was a bit frustrating. Overall my experience with Christina was great and she has helped me improve aspects of my life that I really needed help with.

After trying in-person therapy multiple times I was extremely hesitant to try BetterHelp but I am so thankful that I did and that I was paired with Christina Laydon. She helped me through one of the toughest times of my life. She listened and provided advice while remaining unbiased and non-judgmental. She consistently checked up on me and made sure I was getting what I needed from our sessions.

I’ve been having a bunch of different stressors come down on me all at once and felt like I could use a little “tune up” and to chat with someone about my current anxiety. Christina has been helpful as both a sounding board and offering advice to rein the anxiety back in. I’d highly recommend her to anyone!

Christina has helped me immensely in navigating one of the most tumultuous and difficult life transitions I’ve ever been in. She is someone I can trust to listen to me and challenge me— whether to practice better self-empathy or to disrupt my anxious thinking. She has been truly invaluable to me and I have been recommending BetterHelp to everyone I love entirely because of her.

Christina is a wonderful listener. She has helped me sort through a lot of my underlying issues and really bring to light things that I might have overlooked before. The format is wonderful. I can email while I'm in the moment and processing and then we can follow up with weekly phone sessions. What I like most is that she really hears me and what I'm saying. She doesn't project, she doesn't make me feel bad, she really just hears what I'm needing help with and is providing healthy solutions. I like that she challenges me to think deeper, she helps me come up with different ways of approaching a difficult situation and she keeps me focused on the end goal that I want to achieve.

She is understanding, supportive, calm, and patient. She doesn't make me feel like I am talking to her with a ticking clock in the background. She understands my dilemmas and understands how to best approach them with me.
