I am a LICSW who has both a private practice and works in a counseling center in Massachusetts. I have been a counselor for over 18 years. In that time, I've gotten really quite good at helping with depression, anxiety, the struggles of living with ADHD (both as a parent and as an adult with ADHD), the extremes and felt helplessness of OCD, bi polar conditions, and addiction, and and the turbulent feelings of borderline personality disorder. I am a certified DBT therapist and skills coach with a lot of experience in teaching coping skills with follow up phone coaching. A growing love for mindfulness and related skills of self awareness have led me to work extensively with people living with transitional issues of aging and chronic health conditions.
I have a clear approach to counseling with people and it relates to what I think is the ideal outcome of such work. The highest goal... the gold standard of good counseling to me... is an increase in client morale... a significant growth of feeling competent and confident to work with the feelings and situations that brought them to counseling in the first place. A good counseling relationship has worked when one hears, "You know, I think I can handle this now. I feel a lot better and think I know what to work on and what to do."
The details of each persons' thinking may be varied and unique in every case, but what is really important is the sense of being enough... sufficient... capable as them selves... on top of the situation. There are many roads to this happy place, many counseling approaches (many initials)... CBT, DBT, REBT, ACT and relationship, solution oriented, or reality therapy, or mindfulness therapy, and on and on. It's important to fit the approach to a clients' liking and strengths, and we work together on that. But, if the work goes well (which is certainly the intention) the out come will be the same... an increase in the sense of ones own ability to manage life... a feeling of growth and empowerment.

Dr. Blake has been a great help during a very difficult time. He’s very easy to talk to and has guided me towards having a new perspective on the problems I am facing. I feel like I’m learning a lot more about myself and regaining the strength to overcome life’s challenges more confidently.
One of the things I appreciate about Dr. Blake is his ability to quickly get to the heart of the issue. One of my hang-ups about therapy was the idea of laying down on a chaise lounge and extemporizing for years on end about my childhood (which was essentially my experience with other therapists). Dr. Blake laser-seeks the issues and confronts them directly; I've made more personal progress in the past several months than I had (for years) "on my own". Dr. Blake not only has the tools and considerable experience, but approach my challenges with the same vigor that I do; with the ultimate aim of improving my quality of life.
Dr. Blake has helped me during the most difficult time of my life. Conversations with him not only helped me to release anxiety, worries & pain, but also motivated and encouraged me, which helped to regain my self esteem. In every session, he has given clear as well as specific advices so that I can understand how to deal with my issues and what to do, even in such tough situations. It was always so comforting to talk with him, also, he is very funny. I am very grateful I was able to talk about my issues with Dr Blake out of all the counselors.

Dr. Blake cares about your goals, and how to help you achieve them. He remembers what you are working through as well as things that you need to address so help you reach your potential. If you need him, he is there for you. I think they matched me perfectly. He has helped me in so many ways, and kept what's best for me and self care as the top prioritity.

I am very impressed by how quickly Christopher was able to understand my issues and provide a helpful method of dealing with them. I made significant progress after only one session. I plan to continue to see Christopher until I feel like my life is back on track. I have a lot of hope for the future! Highly recommended!
I have made more progress with Dr. Blake than I have had with other psychologist in recent months. His use of CBT and knowledge of REBT has been very helpful. Also, being able to schedule frequent visits at a fixed monthly price has helped.
Dr. Blake is the best, for me, he listens actively and provides wonderful advice. In less than 5 sessions he provided more accurate advice and help than any other therapist I've met before.
I give my highest recommendations to Dr. Blake. After just a few sessions with him, I felt different in a good way and I think I got stronger in my approach in life. I have been with Dr Blake for just a short while. I would recommend him to everyone. We very quickly developed a great rapport and I really enjoyed our sessions. He is kind, insightful and funny. He has such a wealth of experience and knowledge. I needed some very specific tools and he provided these and showed me how to use them. The results were excellent and I soon found that it was these rather than focusing on foundational issues that gave me the solution.
Thank you so much for all he has done. Very quickly I don’t need him but if I do meet a problem again I would want it to be Dr Blake again.

Dr. Blake is so amazing that it can't be described in words. He has a knack for understanding the underlying problem/issue/challenge. He not only identifies it, but almost always helps you find the solution. He reminds me of my grandpa - its like having some one with much, much more experience than you of life to have a totally 3rd person, objective view on the situation you are in. I think very highly of Dr. Blake and his abilities to understand, digest, and give truly helpful advice. We've been talking for about a month now and I truly look forward to our sessions. He's extremely smart without ever making you feel like you should've known these things all along. Dr. Blake has been so helpful. He offers I sight and direction. I felt so comfortable talking to him, even on the phone which I find so awkward. I have already recommended this site to my co-worker it's so hard to find time to see a councler never mind if they have time to see you. It's a wonderful tool to be able to write down your thoughts and concerns on a whim. I love it and I'm so happy to have hit it off first try with an amazing councler!
I started seeing Dr Blake for anxiety and depression. He was able to very quickly help me turn this around. He had a lot of amazing insight and working together we realized that the issue was not even what I originally thought.
The conversations with him are very comfortable and he is able to adapt and shift gears quickly. I feel like I am really getting back on track. We are always focusing and refocusing on the most pressing issues and tracing them down to their root causes. We don't spend tons of time dwelling in the past we have been working on the present and the way forward. That was a revolutionary aspect of our therapy together.
You will find Dr Blake an approachable and understanding person. He gives great insight and has a wonderful candor about him. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to make some progress.
Dr. Blake was very easy to speak to and was able get to the crux of issues pretty quickly. He has a great therapist's intuition and used it to empower me towards changing and owning my realities.
