About me

Quirky, genuine, personable and insightful have been some of the words used to describe Chris over his nine years partnering and providing clinical services. "I believe in being who I am; what you see is what you get," his how Chris recently described himself. "It is important, at least to myself, that when you sit down to talk about difficult things, the person across from you is just as real and approachable as you need them to be".

One of Chris' therapeutic philosophies is that there is great importance in being true to oneself and accepting the boundaries and limitations as protective rather than a personal flaw.

"To feel as though we have failed is the greatest thing in the world, it means we now have a chance to learn and see new possibilities that did not exist before that moment. This is a powerful, and sometimes scary, experience but worth exploring at every chance."

His clinical work has encompassed all periods of life development and a broad range of client services (i.e. family therapy, couples / relationship counseling, severe and persistent mental illness, forensic mental health, substance abuse / addictions, compulsive gambling, gender and sexuality, eating disorders / body image etc.). Chris has gained invaluable experience through inpatient and outpatient therapy settings, child protective services, dependency case management, youth shelters, homeless coalitions and the extreme stressors of the business world. As an educator and advocate, Chris comes to the table with creative solutions and a remarkable compassion to support those seeking insight and positive change.

It remains Chris' personal philosophy that where the element of chance and the readiness for that experience is present, the doorway to a new day and a happier reality will open.
