About Me

Hello: I have over 35 years of experience working in the mental health field. I am a clinical psychologist who has worked with a variety of people with issues and concerns including anxiety and depression. I have much experience working with individuals and families who have a family member with autism or other developmental disabilities. Working with individuals and families regarding concerns with autism is one of my primary areas of focus. I also have much experience working with individuals and families to address ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder.

I am a highly trained clinician and therapist who has worked with individuals and families from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds. I maintain a nonjudgmental stance with awareness of one’s cultural beliefs and values, and I provide an open atmosphere for people I work with to express their opinions and beliefs so that I can best help with your needs. I work with many individuals from the LGBTQ+ community.

Making the decision to reach out for help is your first step. That is a very big first step. I would like to try to help you make further changes in your life. I look forward to working with you!

Although I’ve only just started my sessions with him, he is the only counselor whose made me feel like I was really cared about and sometimes that’s hard to find. Dr. Smith listens and understand all your needs, concerns and worries and does his best to calm them and does a great job at it!

Dr. Smith helped me feel confident in my own abilities and was very honest with me, even when the time came to determine whether I needed a therapist or not. I appreciate all his advice and recommend him.
