I am a Master's level clinician (LMSW) in the state of Michigan and have been practicing for over 10 years. My clinical background includes work in a variety of settings including community based, inpatient, outpatient, hospital, school and telephonic counseling/outreach. I have experience and training in addiction counseling/substance abuse issues, relationship issues, depression/anxiety, medical social work, crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness. I attended Wayne State University Graduate School and obtained my Master's Degree in Social Work in 2012. Prior to Graduate School, I attended Michigan State University and obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Education.
My approach is always individualized- I utilize my background, experience and training to construct goals that are on par with what you hope to receive from our sessions. I like to incorporate solution based approaches, motivational interviewing and mindfulness, however I have always treated clients as unique individuals- and depending on your goals, a different approach may be required. I have an extensive background in substance abuse counseling and relationship issues- both of which are perfect examples of how creating an individual treatment plan, goal and approach is necessary- as we all have different needs and ideas of treatment.
I am here to help. I will always encourage anyone that is seeking counseling to find a therapist that is the best fit for them. We all have different personalities and backgrounds, and if you think that you would like to schedule a session with me, I am glad to be here- but the most important person here is YOU! As long as you are finding therapy helpful, with me or another counselor, that is all that matters. I have strong feelings about being judgement free, so know that if you are interested in speaking with me that it doesn't matter what you are dealing with, it only matters that I hope I can help you through it!
