Christy Birtcher, LCSW
About me
I have been a licensed social worker since 2008, currently practicing in New York. My pronouns are they/them. I am kink-friendly, familiar with a wide variety of relationship models and dynamics, and have personal and professional experience with folks with a variety of sexualities and genders.
We will set goals collaboratively, such as increasing self-understanding and acceptance; better managing difficulty emotions; building your relationship or parenting skills; feeling more in control of your life; and finding your joy.
I am DBT-certified, trained in EMDR, and find mindfulness a valuable tool.
I believe in a holistic, strengths-based approach.
I strive to practice in a culturally competent way and take into account systemic as well as individual factors in every situation.
