About me

Hello, I am a licensed clinical social worker in California with over 20 years of experience working as a mental health therapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, grief & loss, PTSD, anger & stress management, relationship issues, substance abuse, parenting problems, individual with special needs, career challenges, OCD & ADHD.

My approach to therapy is client centered: clients are the experts on their lives and determine the direction and depth of therapy. I use a variety of modalities, which incorporate best practice from Person Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Behavior Modification, Mindfulness and Relaxation, Reality Based, Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused, Short-term Problem Solving, and Psychoeducation to individuals age eight and up. I believe in working in partnership with clients, utilizing their strengths to help them sort out their challenges and achieve their goals. I also realize how important it is to identify all aspects of an individual’s life that impact their well-being including their physical health, support systems (family, friends), work or school environment, and faith/spirituality in this process. I think when people have hope and can learn to challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes, people are free to experience change.

Everyone needs courage to take the first step to change. If you are ready and willing to take this step, I'm here to support and help you.
I'm looking forward to working with you!

Chung is a very empathetic therapist. She helps me talk through my issues and feelings to dissect my thought process and find ways to improve my reactions and behaviors. I have discussed various topics with her including panics attacks, parenting and anxiety in many kinds of situations. Each time I am met with compassion and ideas for bite-sized achievable goals/action. We categorize thoughts into things I can/cannot control and then for the things I can control, we break down actions/ideas/attitudes so that the issue(s) itself no longer feels insurmountable. I feel fortunate to have her in my life.
