Claudia Arjona

About Me

My name is Claudia Veronica Arjona, but I go by Veronica. I was born and raised in South America, where I started my path as a therapist over 15 years ago. There, I specialized in family therapy for clients with psychiatric needs. Shortly after, I decided to come to the States to complete my training. After finishing a Masters in Expressive Arts therapy, I have worked with individuals, families, children, and youth. I have mainly worked with POC, people with past experiences of immigration, addiction, trauma, and/or the culturally diverse. I am able to provide therapy in both Spanish and English.

My ultimate goal as a therapist is to support and accompany you in your self-discovery process. My approach is person-centered, independently of your concerns. That means I’ll follow your lead and tend to your needs in a way that makes sense to you.

I have training in traditional psychoanalytic approaches, evidence-based cognitive and dialectical behavioral treatments, family and humanistic approaches. I also use art and creative interventions to support development of skills that maintain healthy self-care. I draw tools from all of these disciplines to adapt my sessions to the personal needs of each individual. My aim is to help you in processing emotions and develop skills that can support you to create personal relationships that are fulfilling and meaningful. I wish to open the space for an environment that promotes growth, inspires creative and proactive living.

Claudia is a great at asking the right questions, is an attentive listener and talks through coping techniques with you so you feel onboard about the “next steps” practice. I highly recommend her!

Claudia (or Veronica :) ) is an amazing counselor, she’s being helping me through challenges for about 5 months now and I really appreciate all the support and guidance she’s being providing me, she helps me understand my own feelings and how to deal with them plus all that has been happening around me - and I promise it’s a lot! - she’s reliable and so incredibly supportive and having her in my life has made a tremendous difference, I’d recommend her to everyone! Thank you Veronica, you are amazing!

Claudia listens to me and is very understanding when we reach a subject that is difficult for me to speak about. She doesn't push the issue if she sees I am not willing to speak about it. Overall I'm happy with her as my counselor and have already recommended a friend to this website based on my experiences so far with Claudia.
